Bruce Edward Hazelton

Bruce Edward Hazelton, age 53 of Ligonier passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 3, 2014 at his home. He was born on October 28, 1960, the son of Charles & Elizabeth (Damon) Hazelton in Defiance, OH. On October 25, 1986 he married Leah Elliott in Ligonier, IN. He is survived by his wife, Leah Hazelton of Ligonier; a son, Patrick (Michelle) Hazelton of Warsaw, IN; mother, Elizabeth Sanford of Ligonier; four siblings, Brian (Jill) Hazelton of Hamlet, IN, Greg (Judy) Sanford of St. Louis, MO, Russ (Carolyn) Sanford of Shelbyville, IN and Sue Larkin of LaGrange, GA; and his mother & father-in-law, Patrick and Jan Elliott. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Charles Hazelton & Kenneth Sanford. Bruce worked for Burnworth zollars in Ligonier for 16 years and was a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church. He loved to work outdoors, play golf and spend time with his family. Foremost, Bruce was a dedicated family man that took great pride in his family and his home. A funeral service will be held in Bruce’s honor on Friday August 8, 2014 at 10 AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN. Pastors Byron Kaiser and Johnny McCallister will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Thursday August 7, 2014 at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cromwell-Kimmell Lions Club or the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier.
