Ralph Lewis

Ralph E. Lewis, age 70, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 7:28 PM at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN. He was born on March 2, 1944 to Marvin and Alta (Dobbs) Lewis in Monticello, KY. On June 7, 1964, he married Nancy Poindexter. She survives. He graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1963. He had worked at Dana in Hagerstown and then Syracuse retiring in 1997. He enjoyed farming and working on tractors. Ralph enjoyed his family and regarded himself as “the purdy one”. Surviving are his wife, Nancy; four children, Randle (Lisa Michelle) Lewis of Modoc, Indiana, Robert (Christina) Lewis of Kendallville, Rebecca Lewis of Ligonier, Richard (Sarah) Lewis of Cromwell; 11 grandchildren; four siblings, Roger (Janet) Lewis of Auburn, Carl (Deb) Lewis of Farmland, Indiana, Cathy Stamback of Avilla, and Vanessa (Terry) Cross of Losantville, IN. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elizabeth and Joyce Lewis; and two brothers, Gerald and Ronald Lewis. A memorial service will be held in Mr. Lewis’s honor on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 4 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, In 46767 with Pastor Joey Nelson officiating. On Monday, July 28, 2014 a memorial service will be held at Culbertson Funeral Home, Hagerstown at 1 PM with a time of visitation 2 hours prior to the service. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier, Indiana. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 2-4 PM prior to the service at Yeager Funeral Home.
