SYRACUSE — Peter Duane Null, 78, passed away at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne Friday June 6, 2014 as the result of natural causes.
He was born Nov. 5, 1935 in Montgomery, Mich., the son of Frank and Madge Null. He grew up in Montgomery, Mich., and after college moved to Ligonier, where he met his wife in 1969. When they married in 1977 they moved to Lake Wawasee in Syracuse.
He retired as a teacher from West Noble Middle School after 30 years teaching. He received his under- graduate diploma at St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, and his masters at Huntington College in Huntington. He served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion in Syracuse.
Survivors include his wife Edna Null; six children, Diana Stocklin, Fay (Tim) Biddle, Gil (Chris) Combs, Gary Combs, Enoch (Julie) Combs and Angel (Todd) Oesch, all of Syracuse. 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother, Bill Null of Quincy, Mich.; and one sister, Caroline McComb, Fort Wayne; seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson and his parents.
In accordance with his wishes, no public visitation or services are planned. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to Kosciusko County Van Service in appreciation for the many rides they provided during his illness.
