Edward D. Conner

LIGONIER -- Edward D. Conner, 88, of Ligonier, died at 3:53 a.m. Wednesday (July 30, 2008) in Northridge Village, Albion.

He was born June 6, 1920, in Noble County, to Riley and Fredonna (Green) Conner.

Mr. Conner is survived by three sons, Jerry (Linda) Conner of Kimmell, Ind., Ronald Joyal of Channelview, Texas, Robert Shindledecker of Aztec, N.M.; one daughter, Teresa J. Hammack of Ligonier; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Conner of Warren; one half-brother, Russell Earnhart of Mishawaka; and one sister, Bonnie L. Newman of Brownville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Margaret Sloan, and two sisters, Emogene Kline and Frieda May Scott.

He was a 1932 graduate of Cromwell High School and a member of Bible Baptist Church, Ligonier. Mr. Conner moved from Niles, Mich., to Ligonier in the 1980s and retired in 1982 from Wheelabrater Frye, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with pastors Steven Rowell and John Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.

Memorials may be given to Northridge Village-Albion.
