Alice Mae Kimmel

Alice Mae Kimmel, age 86, of Ligonier passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Northridge Village in Albion, IN. She was born on March 4, 1927 to Roy W. & Grace (Crieghton) Parker. On February 11, 1946 she married Edward G. Kimmel. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1997.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Sean Kimmel of Fort Wayne, Jaime Kimmel of Ligonier, Geoff Gilbert of Albion, IN, Amanda (Scott) Saggars of Ligonier, Graig Gilbert of Kimmell, & Adam Gilbert of Kimmell; 14 great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Liz Terry of Cromwell; and a niece, Cheryl Harper of Syracuse.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Eddie Kimmel; her parents; 3 brothers, Dale, Harold, & Jim Parker; and 2 sisters, Mary Vanator and Ellen Good.

Alice worked for many years as a beautician and as a secretary for Kimmel Bulldozing. She was a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Good Samaritan Club. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary in Albion, IN, the local Mother’s Club and was a charter member of the Women’s Moose Lodge of Buckhead, Ridge, FL. She also served in several other organizations while living in Florida.

A funeral service will be held in Alice’s Honor on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Byron Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.

Family & friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Yeager Funeral Home.
