Betty Jean Garvin

Betty Jean Garvin, of Westler Lake near Wolcottville, IN passed away at her home on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born on July 1, 1937 the daughter of Sam & Mary (Yoder) Petersheim in Yoder, Kansas. On July 21, 1955 she married Glen Slabach. She later married Jack Garvin on December 17, 1983; he preceded her in death on June 1, 2004. She is survived by, three children Dean Slabach of Syracuse, IN, Tammy (Tom) Janes of Ligonier, & Douglas (Dianne ) Slabach of Goshen, IN; six grandchildren & six great-grandchildren; 4 siblings Edna (Paul) Wallace, Cletus (Muriel) Peterson , Arlene (Keith)Julien all of Goshen, & Earl (Lucy) Petersheim of Bristol, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents & a sister Anna Marie Sylvester. She was a life member of the Rome City American Legion Post 381 Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Kendallville, and the Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville, IN. She enjoyed golfing & life on the Lake. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 11AM on Friday March 29, 2013 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will take place at West Goshen Cemetery in Goshen, IN. Family & friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Thursday March 28, 2013 at Yeager Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Doug Slabach, Clay Preston, Drew Preston, Stephanie Slabach, Eric Slabach, & Brandon Slabach.
