Virginia M. Creps

Virginia M. Creps, 90, of Ligonier, passed away on February 15, 2013 in Albion. She was born September 9, 1922 in San Francisco, CA to Howard and Violet (Flagherty) Pearson. She married Robert L. Creps on May 2, 1945 at the Presidio Army Base in San Francisco. He preceded her in death in 1985. She is survived by her son, Jim Creps of Ligonier, and Vicki (Dennis) Berkey of Fremont, IN. 4 Grandchildren, Heather (Roger) McBride, Bryan Berkey, Brit (Abbey) Berkey and James (Nicole) Greiter survive, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Pearson. She was a Nurse’s Aide in San Francisco during WWII. She was the proprietor of Creps Quality Bakery in Ligonier, which had been in her family since 1926. There was no better place to get a “fried cake.” She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending her time working, especially decorating the cakes at the bakery. A funeral mass in Mrs. Creps’ honor will be Monday at 11 A.M. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park, Ligonier, IN. Father Wilson Corzo will officiate, assisted by Deacon Stan LeMieux. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery. Calling will be from 4-7 P.M. Sunday at Yeager Funeral Home.
