Christine M. Weade

Christine M. Weade, of Ligonier passed away following a brief illness at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born on August 9, 1928 the daughter of Bleve & Cathrine (Seals) Gumm in Salem, IN. On September 25, 1947 she married Howard Weade, he preceded her in death in October of 2005. She is survived by two children, Ron (Dianne) Weade of Ashville, NC and Deb (Kenny) Miller of Ligonier, IN; three grandchildren, Tanner (Catrina) Miller of Ligonier, Casey (Chelsey) Weade of Fort Wayne, and Brittney Miller of Ligonier; two great-grandchildren, Macie and Spencer; six siblings, Delia Nix, James Gumm, Cathrine Schlabach, Geraldine Halsey, Virginia Baker, Johnny Gumm; and her companion Richard Swank She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers, Therman Harrsion & Donald Gumm. Christine retired from Lyle in Ligonier & also worked at Essex for many years. She enjoyed playing euchre, sewing, line dancing, walking daily, & spending time with her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in Christine’s honor on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier at 11 AM. Rev. Paul Hoffmaster will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN. Family & friends will be received at Yeager Funeral Home from 2-7 PM on Sunday, February 3, 2013 and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
