Bonita M. Lemon, 72, of Kimmell, IN, passed away on December 29, 2012 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was born on May 2, 1940 in Noble County to James and Evelyn (Morris) Staton. She married Philip K. Lemon on February 8, 1958 in Wawaka, IN. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2000.
She is survived by 2 Sons: David W. (Faith) Lemon of Ligonier and Brian L. Lemon of Kimmell. 3 Grandchildren: Ryan (Satin) Lemon, Jamie (Ben) Ferguson and Keith Lemon; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ava and Emmie Ferguson, survive. Mrs. Lemon is also survived by 3 brothers: James (Pauline) Staton, Jr. of Ligonier, Larry (Pam) Staton of Kimmell and Danny (Julie) Staton of Cromwell.
Bonita was a Nurse’s Assistant and an EMT with LaGrange Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of Kimmell United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mother’s Club, taught Sunday School and was chairperson of the Pastor/Parish Committee. She liked to read and watch T.V., as well as be with friends and go out. She loved taking care of her grandchildren.
A funeral service in her honor will be Friday January 4 at 11 A.M. at Kimmell United Methodist Church. Pastor Rachael Bales will officiate. Burial will be at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell. Friends may call from 4-8 on Thursday January 3, 2012 at Yeager Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family c/o Yeager Funeral Home.
