Vernon E Rice

Vernon E. Rice, age 74, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:35 AM at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, Indiana. He was born on August 30, 1938 to John and Josephine (Koekenberg) Rice in Attica, Indiana.

He graduated from Attica High School in 1955 and went on to serve four years in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He had retired after 37 years of service at Silgan in Ligonier. He had a love for antique cars and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities whenever possible

Surviving are his mother, Josephine Rice of Ligonier; two nieces, Randi Rice of Kendallville and Jona Johnson of El Paso, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, and brothers, John Glen and Larry Lee.

A funeral service will be held in Mr. Rice’s honor on Saturday December 22, 2012 at 1 PM at Maus Funeral Home, 704 S Council St, Attica, Indiana. There will be a time of visitation from 11-1 at Maus Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, Indiana.

There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier, Indiana.
