Betty Lou Hire

Betty Lou Hire of Ligonier passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Goshen Hospital at 2:50 PM at the age of 71. She was born on October 24, 1941 the daughter of the late Arthur Dale & Marcella Virginia (Keim) Coy. On June 27, 1958 she married David Ray Hire, he survives. She is also survived by three children, Greg (Melanie) Hire of Goshen, Trent (Brenda) Hire of Ligonier, and Jennifer Christian of Ligonier; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Brown of Goshen, Virginia (Michael) Wyland of Milford, and Pat (Arthur) Horn of Mentone; Three sister-in-laws, Gwen Coy of Arlington, TX, Janet Coy of Fort Wayne, and Sandra Hartman of Albion. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings, Arthur Dale Coy Jr., Marvin Ray Coy, & foster Brother, George Carter. Betty was a lifetime member of Richville United Methodist Church and was also a member the Timber Ridge Golf Club. She retired from nursing in 2003, was very devoted to her family and loved to golf. A funeral service will be held on Monday November 26 2012 at 10AM with Pastor Tamra Gerber officiating at Richville United Methodist Church, 11009 CR 50 Route 1; Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will follow at Hire Cemetery in Benton Township. Family and friends will be received at Yeager Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Saturday November 24, 2012 and from 2-5 PM on Sunday November 25, 2012. There will also be one hour of visitation from 9-10 AM prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Richville United Methodist Church.
