Elsie Kurtz

Elsie J. Kurtz passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at home in Millersburg, IN at the age of 69. She was born March 31, 1943 to Jacob & Sarah (Schrock) Petershein in LaGrange County, IN. On October 24, 1963 she married Manelius B. Kurtz; he preceded her in death on April 1, 1969.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Elsie is survived by two daughters, Edna Arlene (Vernon) Miller of Millersburg and Ella Mae (Jacob) Troyer of La Grange, IN; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin (Ida) Petershein of Topeka, IN, Orva (Edith) Petershein of Topeka, IN, and Samuel (Susie) Petershein of La Grange, IN; four sisters, Mary (Melvin) Hershberger of Topeka, IN, Ida Mae (Lorenzo) Romero of Goshen, IN, Ruby (Marvin) Graber of La Grange, IN and Katie (Perry) Mast of Topeka, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Elva Petershein and one sister, LeAnna Miller.

Family and friends will be received at the Vernon Miller Residence, 11700 W 500 S; Millersburg, IN after 2PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 and all day Thursday, October 11, 2012. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 9:30 AM at the Nelson Slabach residence, 5120 S 1125 W; Millersburg, IN 46543. Bishop Gerald Miller and home ministers will officiate.

Burial will follow at Hawpatch Cemetery in Topeka, IN. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Kauffman, Aron Bontrager, Howard Helmuth, David Bontrager, Lyle Hochstetler, and Delbert Miller.
