Timothy Harper of Cromwell, IN, born November 17, 1951, passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2012, following a valiant battle with cancer. The son of Harmon M. & Helen V. (VanAman) Harper in Cromwell, IN. Tim graduated from West Noble High School in 1970 and went on to serve his country with dedication in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Tim returned home where he raised sheep and was in great demand for his sheep-grooming skills. Tim was well-respected for having overcome alcoholism and he remained sober for the 20 years before his passing. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for nearly 20 years, until illness forced him from the job. Tim enjoyed fishing, golf, and socializing with friends and family. He is survived by two children, Lynsi (Mark) Neyland of Indianapolis and Joe Harper of Cromwell; two granddaughters, Shila and Vivian; four sisters, Mary Esther (Ron) Pullin of Waterloo, Iowa, Rebecca (David) Gibson of Bozeman, MT, Betty Jo (Tom) Pultz of Samamish, WA, Susan (Ron) Harper-Dorman of Ft.Wayne; two brothers, Edward (Janet) Harper of Cromwell, and Daniel (Julie) Harper of Syracuse; and former wife Brenda (Egolf) Harper of Cromwell. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother Tom Harper, and an infant sister Betsy Jane Harper. Visitation will take place at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767 on Sunday, July 29 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at Yeager Funeral Home on Monday, July 30 at 10:00 am, with burial to follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
