Andrew J. Long

Andrew James Long, age 57, of Kimmell, IN passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 5:25PM. On June 9, 1955 he was born as a gift to Albert Vaughn & Mary (Kerrell) Long in Sewickley, PA. He married Ramona Weekley in Kingsville, TX on February 18, 1981.
Andrew retired from the Navy as a First Class Pay officer after17 1/2 years of service prior to becoming disabled and had served on the USS Orion, USS Leader, Naval Station Guantanamo bay Cuba, Naval Air Station Kingsvill TX, , USS Flatley, USS Gallery twice, Naval station Annapolis MD where he trained Midshipman ship board duty's. He was also a plank owner of USS Scout.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years and five months, Ramona Long; two children, Natalie Long and Andrew Long Jr. both of Kimmell, IN; four grandchildren, Tonya, Cheyenne, Allissa and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held in his honor with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will take place at Orange Township Cemetery in Brimfield, IN.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 5-8 PM and also on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
