Sergio H. Montelongo

Sergio H. Montelongo, age 47, of Ligonier passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 4:03 PM at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN following an extended illness. He was born on August 23, 1964 to Sergio H. Montelongo Sr. & Elvira Avalos in Gomez Palacio, Durango Mexico. On July 9, 1993 he married Luz Maria Flores, she survives.

He is survived by his wife, Luz Maria Flores Montelongo of Ligonier; three daughters, Marisol, Marleen, and Valeria Sarai Montelongo all at home; his parents Sergio H. & Elvira Avalos Montelongo of Mexico; five siblings, Yanira, Briseida, Zita, Ulises, and Loida all of Mexico. He was preceded in death by an older brother, Sergio H. Montelongo.

He was a member of Iglesia Sinai Pentecostes of Goshen where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent. Sergio had worked for Diversified Machine Inc. in Bristol for over ten years and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

A funeral service will be held in Sergio’s honor on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 6 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767 with pastor Rafael Flores officiating.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-6 PM prior to the funeral service. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Montelongo College Fund.
