Bermuda M. Blake, age 89, of Topeka, IN passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her daughter-in-law’s home. She was born on February 10, 1923 to Clyde and Margaret (Foreman) Vaughn in Garrett, IN. On October 10, 1959, she was married to Harley F. Blake in Wawaka, IN; he preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by a son, Francis E. (Sherry) Wilson of Albion and one step-daughter, Sharon (Paul) VanEck of Holland, MI; several grandchildren; and several great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, James M. Wyatt, Bertrand Barkey and Ralph Wilson; one daughter, Beverly Barkey; and two step-sons, Harley Blake Jr. and Edward Blake.
Bermuda was a dedicated Christian, had attended the Ligonier Church of the Nazarene, loved spending time with her family, reading, and cats. She also enjoyed Christian music and television, watching it snow and the horses play. Bermuda was a wonderful lady and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Bermuda’s life will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with Chaplain Ken Weaver and Pastor Ernie Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Salem cemetery in Ligonier.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Parkview Noble Hospice- 1836 Ida Red Road; Kendallville, IN 46755
