Carroll "Peck" Leitch

June 19, 1921 — April 27, 2012

Carroll “Peck” V. Leitch, age 90, of Smalley Lake, Kimmell, IN passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 7:15 AM at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne. He was born on June 19, 1921 to Russell and Lenna (Herendeen) Leitch in Noble County. On August 10, 1946 he married Martha “Marty” Clouse in Albion; she preceded him in death on December 9, 2009.

Carroll served several years in the United States Army, and was very proud to be able to serve his country. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 246 Albion. During his formative years he was a farmer and a LP gas man. Carroll was avid fisherman, die hard basketball fan and enjoyed playing horseshoes. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

Carroll is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Ed) White of Larwill; four sons, Norman (Marcia) Leitch of Kimmell, Russell (Colleen) Leitch of Kimmell, Tim (Helen) Leitch of Albion, Bruce (Helen) Leitch of Samlley Lake; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (Natalie) Leitch of Layfayette, TN; four sisters, Lavone Cleand of Kendallville, Marciel Clouse of Albion, Kate Clouse of Albion and Dee Coy of Albion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marty; his parents; 1 grand daughter; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

A funeral service will be held in Carroll’s honor on Wendesday, May 2, 2012 at 10 AM with Pastor Thomas Carroll Leitch officiating the service, which will be held at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will follow at Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 3-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to the 10 AM service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to Parkview Whitley Home Health & Hospice, 105 S. Madison St; Columbia City, IN 46725.
