William “Bill” Guyas, age 70, of Ligonier, IN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on November 21, 1941 to Joseph G. and Winona (Gloor) Guyas in Akron, OH. William married Carol Kay (Cripe) Guyas on February 3, 1963. William was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Ligonier Evangelical Church. In the 1960’s he worked at Maci’s Slip in Syracuse, and then went on to work at Silgan Plastics where he retired from after nearly 40 years of service as Traffic Manager. After retirement, William helped his son on the family farm. He also owned and operated Country Basket & Gifts with his wife, Carol, for over 14 years. He enjoyed working outside, travelling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol; one son, Anthony (Vickie) Guyas of Ligonier; one daughter, Lisa (Steve) Paul of Goshen; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jack and Daniel Guyas, Michael and Samantha Paul; one brother, George Guyas of Syracuse; two sisters, Margaret Hursey of Cisco, IL and Donna Pepple of Lexington, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Kevin. A funeral service will be held in William’s honor on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10 AM at the Ligonier Evangelical Church at 1911 Lincolnway South; Ligonier with Pastor Troy Diersing officiating the service. Burial will follow the service at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Yeager Funeral Home at 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
