Paul Romine

Paul Romine, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:18 PM at IU Health Goshen Hospital following a twenty year battle with emphysema. He was born on January 6, 1940 to Paul David & Florine (Price) Romine in Sikeston, Missouri. On March 10, 1962 he married Vesta Maye Dunlap. He is survived by; his wife, Vesta Romine of Ligonier; four children, Todd Romine of Kansas City, Missouri, Juli Romine of Ligonier, Lori (Steve) Abinsay of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jodi (Gregg) Hughes of Ligonier; twelve grandchildren, Amilia, Ezekiel, Pearl, Nathan, Niles, Jullian, Ridge, Timber, Shelby, Matthew, Joseph (Sabreana), and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Haylee, Aubree, Zowii, and Zylee; one sister, Flora Metzger of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara Hamood and Emma Jean Coley; and a brother Harold Lee Romine. He attended Harrison Center School as a child and graduated from Goshen High School in 1958. Paul then went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army until retirement upon reaching 20 years of service. Paul served during Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star along with many other honors. Following retirement he continued to work as a nurse for local nursing homes. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, watching old westerns, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Paul will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. A funeral service will be held in Paul’s Honor on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 7PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Joey Nelson officiating. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 3-6 PM at Yeager Funeral Home.
