Duane E. Baxter

Duane E. Baxter, age 77, of Bremen, IN passed away at 6:08 AM on February 28, 2012 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on January 14, 1935 to George C. and Lela D. (Fagan) Baxter in Valley Center, Kansas. On May 16, 1974 he married Shirley Taylor in Cromwell, IN. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Baxter of Bremen, IN; two daughters, Ladeana (Dave) Taylor of Puyallup, WA and Lorinda Howard of Portland, OR; three grandchildren, Heather Livingston, Dylan and Drue Taylor; two great-grand-daughters Shyann Jordan and Autem Olivia Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was an avid treasurer hunter, using his metal detector frequently and enjoyed NASCAR. When Duane was younger he loved to ice skate and play hockey and was even blessed to ice skate on his 76th birthday. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. A funeral service will be held in Duane’s honor on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1 PM at Ligonier Evangelical Church in Ligonier with Pastor Troy Diersing officiating. A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
