Thomas L. Stout

Thomas Lowell Stout, age 81, of Ligonier passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 3:03 PM at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on February 7, 1930 in Noble County, IN to Frank & Ethel (Kerr) Stout. On January 26, 1974 he married Virginia Maggart at Ligonier Presbyterian Church.

He graduated from Kendallville High School in 1948 and eventually retired from Silgan Plastics after 38 years of service. Tom loved to play euchre, and was an antique collector and dealer. He also attended Ligonier Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Stout of Ligonier; two children, Stephen (Mary Dee) Stout of Austin, TX and Barbara (John) Campbell of Churubusco, IN; 1 grandson, Troy (Teresa) Wells of Fort Wayne, IN; 1 brother, David Stout of Kendallville; four Step-Daughters; Vicki (“Bud”) Darr of Columbia City, IN, Carol (Richard) Long of Etna Green, IN, Sharon (Robert) Brase of Fort Wayne, IN and Kathy (Joseph) Derheimer of Linton, IN; two stepsons; Gary (Sally) Maggart of South Whitley, IN and Dean Maggart of Fort Wayne, IN; 17 step-grandchildren and 20 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Phillip Stout.

A memorial service will be held in Tom’s honor on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 2PM with Rev. Stanley R. Wilson officiating at Ligonier Presbyterian Church, 407 South Cavin St., Ligonier, IN 46767. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association Greater Midwest Affiliate, 208 S. LaSalle St. Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604 or the American Diabetes Association 6415 Castleway W. Drive Suite 114, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
