Willard E. Welty

Willard E. Welty, age 81, of Ligonier passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 8:50 AM at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on May 11, 1930 to Clifford & Leona Ruth (Miller) Welty in Etna Green, IN. On November 10, 1952 he married Marilyn Jean Clawson; she preceded him in death in 1994.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Willard retired from Goshen Rubber after over 48 years of faithful service. He was also a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Goshen.

He is survived by three children; Debra (Jerry) Hochstetler, Gloria Welty, & Craig Welty all of Ligonier; five grandchildren, Clifford, Ryan, Troy, Josh, & Holly; four great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Olivia, Sophira, & Everett; two siblings, Margaret Troyer of Goshen & Delores (Bill) Harmon of Union, MI.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, & four siblings; Laurabelle Bliele, Gerald Welty, Phyllis Sowers, & Erma Baker.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier with Pastor John Lutton officiating.
