John L. Mast

John L. Mast, age 80, of Topeka, IN passed away on January 11, 2012 at 7:03 AM at his home. He was born on May 14, 1931 to Levi D. and Ameila Mast in Lagrange County. He married Edna S. Schlabach on November 4, 1954.

He is survived by his wife Edna; one son, Harley (Rachel) Mast of Topeka, IN; six daughters, Fannie Irene (Jacob) Kurtz of Lagrange, IN, Carolyn (Olen) Hershberger of Lagrange, IN, Ada Mae (Daniel) Bontrager of Topeka, IN, Ruby Mast of Topeka, IN, Susan (Jerry) Yoder of Topeka, IN, Marlene (David) Miller of Topeka, IN; forty four grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren. One brother Henry (Fannie Ellen) Mast and one sister Ada (Elmer C) Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant twin brother, Andrew, Samuel, Daniel, Moses, Amos, Elmer, Sister Barbara, and an infant great granddaughter Miriam Jo Kurtz.

A funeral service will be held with Daniel Otto and the Home Ministers officiating on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 9:30 AM at the Jerry Lambright residence- 6800 W 200 S Topeka, IN. Friends may call at the John Mast residence- 7875 W 200 S Topeka, IN after 6 PM Wednesday and all day Thursday.

Pallbearers are Alan Yoder, Lester Yoder, Roman Lambright, Joe Otto, Atlee Miller and Samuel Bontrager. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery in Shipshewana, IN.
