James Edward Alford

James Edward Alford, age 62, of Cromwell, IN passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Marion VA Hospital in Marion, IN. He was born on March 12, 1949 to James L. & Julia A. (Shaw) Alford in Manchester, TN. On January 26, 1980 he married Nettie Jean Jacobs in Cromwell, IN.

He served in the United States Army during Vietnam working as a supply truck driver. He enjoyed working with wood, model cars and his cats.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Alford of Cromwell; three children, Lisa (Keith) Dunbar of Wawaka, Peggy (James) Jonas of Albion and Angel Terry of Cromwell; four grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Robbie) Tate of Woodbury, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held in Mr. Alford’s honor on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 1PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Jimmy Shepherd officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Topeka, IN.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Noble County Humane Society, P.O. Box 471, Kendallville, IN 46755.
