Barbara A. Kief

Barbara A. Kief, age 72, of Glenwood, AR, formerly of Ligonier, IN passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 7:40 pm. She was born on May 6, 1939 to Chester & Ethel (Reed) Staton in Noble County, IN. She married James Kief on June 27, 1964. He preceded her in death in April of 2001. Mrs. Kief retired from Silgan Plastics in 2002 after 44 years of service as a dispatcher. She loved to garden and read. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Danita) Johnson of Glenwood, AR, Kellie (Jeffrey) Terry of Kendallville, IN; five grandsons, J.J. (Lindsay) , Jeremy, Jordan, Jared, Jed Johnson; two great granddaughters, Madison and Kensie; and one brother, Olin “Gene” (Margaret) Staton of Fairfield Bay, AR; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Jon Kief; husband; parents; two brothers, John & Robert Staton; and one sister, Donnabelle Hill. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 3-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home.
