Greta M. Wallace

Greta M. Wallace, age 77, of Cromwell, IN passed away on Friday November 18, 2011 at 4:07 PM at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on December 31, 1933 to Donald & Mary B. (Elder) Robbins in Warsaw, IN. On January 22, 1955 she married Jim P. Wallace in Elkhart, IN.

Greta grew up working in the newspaper & printing business. She later owned & operated the Cromwell Advance with her husband until their merger with the Ligonier Leader in the 1970’s. She then continued to work as the office manager of the Advance Leader for many years. She never retired and presently operated Cromwell Advance Printing with her husband, supplying job work for the community. She served on the Cromwell town board for many years and also served as president. She currently was a member of the Ligonier Evangelical Church. Throughout her life she was very active in the community serving in various community activities. Greta was always willing to volunteer anywhere needed. Above all she was a dedicated & loving wife, mother & grandmother. She was also known as a wonderful cook.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James P. Wallace of Cromwell; a son, Rock D. Wallace of Avilla, IN; two daughters, Ren (Kerry) Sprunger of Topeka, IN & Ranell (Dave) Enders of Princeton, IA; six grandchildren & eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Wallace Patterson in 1979 and her parents.

A funeral service will be held in Greta’s honor on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 5PM at Ligonier Evangelical Church with Pastor Troy Diersing officiating. Friends may call Monday from 3-5 PM prior to the service. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center.
