Betty J. Saggars

Betty J. Saggars, age 91, of Ligonier, IN passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Northridge Village in Albion, IN. She was born on September 25, 1920 to Willis J. & Ruth N. (Homsher) Mahnesmith in Noble County. On November 30, 1939 in Columbia City, IN she married Harvey Saggars, he preceded her in death in 1996.

Betty worked as a cook at Ligonier & West Noble High Schools for over 25 years and attended the Ligonier United Methodist Church where she was a member of The Good Samaritans group.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy L. (Maurice) Moser of Ligonier; three sons, David C. (Jean) Saggars, Quentin “Joe” (Sandy) Saggars, and Kent C. (Joni) Saggars all of Ligonier, IN; a daughter-in-law, Dee Saggars of Olathe, KS;10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lee (Marcelle) Mahnesmith of Terre Haute, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Steven H. Saggars; two brothers, Berton & Carmen Mahnesmith; and two sisters, Mary K. Stump, & Sara J. Conrad.

There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. Saggars honor on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN with Rev. Matt Moser officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home.
