Virginia Louise Mills

Virginia Louise Mills, age 84, of Ligonier, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Courtyard Rehabilitation Center in Goshen. She was born on January 19, 1927 in Lex, West Virginia to John W. & Grace (Rippith) Russell. On May 7, 1947 she married Norman John Mills, he preceded her in death on November 22, 1997.

Mrs. Mills worked for Essex Wiring in Ligonier, retiring in 1972. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Ligonier, was a member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion.

The beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother is survived by three daughters, Norma (John) Firestone of Goshen, Linda (George) Trenshaw of Goshen, Ella Scott of Ligonier; one son, Bill Mills of Ligonier;15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Ella Sexton and Sarah Collins; two brothers, Ernest Rippith & John Russell; and one grandson, Chad Duesler. Mrs. Mills was loved by all who knew her.

There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. Mills’ honor on August 6, 2011 at 3 PM at Yeager Funeal Home in Ligonier with Pastor Jimmy Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

A time of visitation will be held from 1-3 PM prior to the funeral service at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church.
