Betty R. Chiddister

Betty R. Chiddister, age 86, of Ligonier, IN passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at 9:49 PM at Lutheran Life Village in Kendallville. She was born on December 21, 1924 in Ligonier, IN to Frank & Ethel (Growcock) Sprague. On February 19, 1947 she married Leland P. Chiddister, he preceded her in death on May 28, 1997.

Betty was a lifetime area resident. She had worked for Essex Wire & United Tech where she retired as a foreman after 37 years of service.

Survivors include, two daughters, Marilyn (Larry) Essley of Kendallville, Connie (Bruce) Burns of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Renea (Todd) Boots of LaGrange, Eric (Amy) Essley of Zionsville, Jennifer (David) Perkins of Stroh; and seven great grandchildren, Allyson, Jacob, Joe, Betsy, Hannah, Max & Fin;

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Ronald P. Chiddister in 1968, 10 brothers and 4 sisters.

A funeral service will be held in Betty’s honor on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 1 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN
