Paul Ryckman "Ryck" Prenger

Paul Ryckman "Ryck" Prenger, age 65, of Topeka, IN passed away unexpectedly July 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born June 17, 1946 in San Diego, CA to Paul J. & Elizabeth Gene (Ryckman) Prenger. Paul moved to the area in 2000 coming from Medford, OR.

After graduating from high school Paul went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy during which time he served three tours in Vietnam. He later graduated from the University of Oregon. For the last 11 years he worked as an amish taxi driver known as “Paul Ragtime” which he enjoyed a great deal. He also loved being part of the local community and attended Eden Worship Center.

He is survived by three children, Paul C. (Kelsey) Prenger & Matthew T. Prenger both of Portland, OR & Scott Roberts of San Diego, CA; one sister, Elizabeth Western of Klamath Falls, OR; one brother, Rich (Kim) Gatliff of Merrill, OR; one uncle, Norman (Betty Lou) Ryckman of Tulelake, CA; one aunt, Carolyn (Gene) Nelson of Paradise, CA & several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Marcia Chambers of Topeka, IN.

A funeral service will be held in Paul’s honor on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 9AM at the Topeka Baptist Church, 104 North St. Topeka, IN 46571 with Pastor Harold Gingerich officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 2-8 PM. Burial will follow at Hawpatch Cemetery in Topeka, IN.
