Edward Lee Peffer

Edward Lee Peffer, of Ligonier passed away at 6:30 PM on Monday June 6, 2011 at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born the son of Charles E. Peffer & Josephine M. Leighty on July 13, 1948.

He graduated from Avilla High School in 1966 and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. Edward had farmed most of his life and worked for Silgan Plastics for 45 years. He enjoyed golfing and playing Texas Hold Em poker and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier.

Survivors include, special friend, Wanda Peffer; two daughters, Kimberly K. (Alan) Teel of Ligonier, Jennifer L. Saggars and her companion Alfonso Gomez of Ligonier; four grandchildren, Haley Teel, Taylor Saggars, Triston Gomez, and Tori Gomez all at home; a sister, Charlene K. (David) Hess of Fort Wayne, brother, Gary W. (Kathy) Clouse of Avilla; two step-sisters, Nancy (Wilbur) Wells of Wolcottville, Deanna (Richard) Magnuson of Albion; a step brother, Rex (Kay) Smolek of Iowa, Jerry (Rhea) Smolek of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Josephine; stepmother, Marjorie Peffer; & stepfather, Harry A. Clouse.

A funeral service will be held on June 11, 2011 at Yeager funeral Home at 11 AM with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 2-7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are to American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier.
