Verlin Lee Reeve

Verlin Lee Reeve, age 78, of Kimmell, IN passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 5:15 AM following a brief battle with cancer.

Mr. Reeve was born on August 2, 1932 to Charles Weldon & Althea (Fausnaugh) Reeve. He served his country honorably in the US Army during from 1953-55. He was a lifetime area resident and retired from Behlen in Goshen after more than 30 years of service.

He is survived by six children, Connie (Tom) Stull of Goshen, Scott (Priscilla) Reeve of Wolf Lake, Robert (Teresa) Reeve of Kendallville, Brian (Judy) Reeve of Ligonier, Melinda (Troy) Compton of Kendallville, Holli Pease of Avilla; twenty-nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Homer (Norma) Reeve of Kimmell. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arnold & Leland Reeve; and two sisters, Marlene Knox and Rose Ann Reeve.

A funeral service will be held in Mr. Reeve’s honor on Sunday June 5, 2011 at 2PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating & Pastor Jimmy Robbins officiating. In accordance with Verlin’s request, friends and family are invited to attend the ceremony in casual attire. “Just come as you are.” Interment will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN where military honors will be conducted.

There will be a time of visitation on Saturday June 4, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions are to Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
