Luella M. Allen

Luella M. Allen, age 84, of Wawaka passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 3:25 AM at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was born on January 17, 1927 to Maurice & Mildred (Myers) Schlabach in Noble County, IN. On April 21, 1946 she married Charles J. Allen in Cromwell, IN. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.

Mrs. Allen was a lifetime area resident and was a very talented seamstress. She had worked for Sroufe Manufacturing Company, & Frick Services where she was known as “Cookie”.

She is survived by two children, Robert “Bob” (Jennie) Allen of Wawaka, Lucinda “Cindy” (David) Rose of Kendallville; five grandchildren, Charles, Katie, Cassie, Weston, & Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her husand, parents, one grandson, Chester James Allen, three siblings, Adrian Schlabach, Ruth Doan, & Mabel Schlabach.

There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. Allen’s honor on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10AM at Yeager Funeral Home-1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Diana Siegal officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

There will be a time of visitation from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are to Parkview Noble Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
