Frieda Miller

Our loving mother & grandmother Frieda L. Miller, age 71, of Ligonier, formerly of Topeka, departed Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Avilla to be with the Lord on February 15, 2011 at 6:40 PM. She was born on May 12, 1939 to Levi & Susanna (Schrock) Christner. In June of 1975 she married Mike Miller, he preceded her in death in 1993.

Frieda was a lifelong area resident and was a member of Wawasee Church of the Nazarene. Prior to retirement she worked for several years at Pent Assembly in Rome City. She loved gardening, traveling, & taking walks. Above all else Frieda had a special love for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is her daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Beaver of Ligonier; step-daughter, Melanie (Barry) Lambert of Milford; five grandchildren, Chase, Colton, Trey, Raegan, & Caden; two step-grandchildren, Matt and Melissa; three brothers, Kenny (Ida) Christner of Mongo, Merle (Edna) Christner of Shipshewana, a twin brother, Freeman (Pam) Christner of Virginia; two sisters, Juanita Mast of Rome City & Anna (Bill) Mosley of Kendallville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents & one brother, Mervin Christner.

A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Miller’s honor on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 1PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, February 19, from 11AM –1PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
