Thomas E. Walburn, age 58, of Cromwell, IN went to be with His Lord, on Friday, February 11, 2011 in Lansing, MI.
Tom was born on November 26, 1952 at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, IN to Edward & Norma Jean (Deisler) Walburn. He was part of the first class to graduate from West Noble High School in 1971. He later married Cindy Wuis on June 22, 1991. Over the years he worked at Don’s Excavating and for John Deere as a mechanic. He was a lifetime area resident & attended Indian Village United Methodist Church for many years. He was also a member of the Belgian Draft Horse Corporation of America and the Indiana Draft Horse Breeders Association. Above all, Tom loved his wife, his family, & horses.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Walburn of Cromwell; mother: Norma Jean Walburn of Cromwell; 1 uncle: Dale (Evelyn) Deisler of Finley, OH; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward G. Walburn in 2004, and his brother, David Walburn in 1984.
A funeral service will be held in Tom’s honor on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 1PM at Yeager Funeral home- 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Rev. Comer Skinner a special friend, & his sister-in-law Kate Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Indian Village Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Pete Meyers, Joseph Walburn, Daniel Bonga, Justin Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Ed Stump, Jim Raber, and Jeff Faber. Honorary pallbearers are Dan McCulloch, Todd McCulloch, Stan Bontrager, & Tom Green.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 and from 11AM-1PM prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Belgian Draft Horse Youth and Education Fund, Inc., PO Box 335, Wabash, IN 46992.
