Penny Sue Maynard

February 15, 1949 — January 13, 2011

Penny Sue Maynard, age 61, of Ligonier, passed away on January 13, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on February 15, 2011 in Muncie, IN to Russell & Mary Jane (Shaw) Hahn. On July 29, 1971 she married Duane Maynard Sr.

Mrs. Maynard movied to the area in 1970 coming from Muncie, IN. She was a dedicated homemaker and a member of the Ligonier Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting many different things for her family, volunteering cooking at the community table and traveling to visit lighthouses. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family whom she loved dearly.

Survivors include her husband, Duane Maynard of Ligonier; six children, Lori (Eleazar) Carranza of North Carolina, Duane Jr. (Shearlynn) Maynard of Lakeland, FL, Angela (Eric) Thompson of Lakeland, FL, Pamela Rodriguez of Syracuse, Diana Landeros of Ligonier, Debra Holmes of Ligonier; nineteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Peggy (Bub) Frazier of Lansing, MI, Mariea (Ray) Coe of Columbia City, IN, Kathy McGuire of Warsaw, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William Hahn and one grandson.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767 with Reverend John Lutton officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery in Topeka, IN.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 2-6 PM at Yeager Funeral Home.
