Neal Daniel Taghon

Neal Daniel Taghon, age 61, of Shavehead Lake, MI passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at home. He was born on January 30, 1960 the son of Rene and Evelyn (Luc) Taghon in South Bend, IN. On May 31, 2013 he married Tonida Coleman.

Neal graduated from LaSalle High School in 1978 and moved to South Padre, Texas where he owned and operated Mr. Truck for several years. He was an extremely talented automative painter an absolute perfectionist. He completed countless projects with his friend and co-worker, Mike Depositor of Depositor Autobody in Granger. Neal loved all forms of racing, including drag racing and Nascar. He was a well loved little league coach and was a boy scout leader. Neal had a crazy sense of humor, was very adventurous, and would try anything once. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, spending time on the lake, and having an occasional beverage with his friends.

Neal is survived by his wife, Tonida Taghon of Shavehead Lake; a son Travis Taghon of Michigan City, IN, four siblings, Gregory (Nancy) Taghon of South Bend, IN, Gary (Monica) Taghon of Hillsborough, NJ, Renee (Carl) Rossow of Cheyenne, WY, and Frederick (Laurie) Taghon of South Bend, IN; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 4-6 pm at Stem-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart, IN 46514 on Thursday, April 22, 2021. A time of sharing will begin at 6 pm at the funeral home. A private cremation committal will take place following the services.
